Discovering Your True Self: A Journey to Answer "Who Am I?

Everyone loves to ask the famous question " Tell me about yourself", am I the only one the struggles to answer that. Like I should about able to spit that answer out because i know myself, right? Then why can't I answer that simple question, do I not know who I am enough to tell someone about myself. No, maybe I am just overthinking it, it has to be that because I don't want to give unwanted information that they didn't ask for or what if tell them something that makes them look at me differently. I have been asked this question so many times whether it is during interviews, meeting new friends...etc. either way I should know how to answer that question by now damn it! But yet i still stumble when I get asked, the only thing I can think of is "I am a 27-year-old grad student, working in a call center looking to purse my dream in IT" that's about how it goes before they respond "you can get a job anywhere with that degree" Yet I am still working in the call center applying to every entry level job i can find but yet nobody wants to take a chance on me but we will save that for another post. At the young age of 27 I don't know who I am really, it could be because of my surroundings or people hindering me from finding myself or I could be the one afraid to find out really who I am because that question is so vague but powerful, many can answer it and many can't (I am one of those many that can't).

Until I truly know how to answer that question I will stick to saying: I am a 27-year-old grad student.......
